Connecting people through significant cross-cultural experiences overseas

About PAC

Partners Across Cultures is an independent IRS-approved 501(c)(3) charitable organization formed in 2005 to help connect people through significant cross-cultural experiences overseas. PAC provides administrative support to send teams on short term vision and cultural exchange trips into other cultures. We help with itineraries, training, processing of financial contributions, and other logistical matters.

One of the ways that we can foster understanding between cultures and peoples and provide a means for the breaking down of stereotypes and prejudices, is to give people, especially young people, a meaningful and intentional experience within another culture. When students are able to spend time with fellow students of another culture in a non-threatening environment that allows for honest and authentic exchange of ideas, fear and suspicion give way to friendship and understanding. Matters of worldview, values, beliefs, and culture provide a basis for explaining and experiencing differences and similarities in ways of life between the two societies. PAC gives training and leadership in how to optimize these opportunities for trip participants.

Partners Across Cultures also organizes vision trips for adults and families who wish to experience other cultures on-site. These vision trips give people the opportunity to meet and learn from others who are different from them in many ways, yet also share common goals and dreams. PAC trains and leads these vision trips so that, rather than a ‘holiday’ or ‘tourist’ trip, they produce life-changing results in the participants by broadening their scope of the world. Often life-long friendships are made and long-lasting impact is realized in the lives of the participants from both cultures.

Additionally, Partners Across Cultures networks and interfaces with several partners who live long-term in other cultures doing work and living life with similar goals. If you would like to learn more about these partners, and find out how you might be involved with Partners Across Cultures in supporting them, please contact us.
